Mac Shack

To provide our students and teachers with the tools they need to prepare for the future, Sanger ISD has implemented a 1 to 1 MacBook Program for students at Sanger HS  in grades 9 – 12. Our mission is to use technology, to strengthen student learning and foster creativity, collaboration, and communication beyond the classrooms. 

To help accomplish this, Sanger Independent School District established a MacShack at Sanger High School in 2012. Students can go to the MacShack throughout the day to get their devices repaired or get support for using the various software programs utilized by Sanger High School staff and students. As part of the program, students can join the iHelp Team and support the campus in the use of technology in the classrooms.

At different points in time throughout the year, students may owe fees based on damage to the MacBook, Clamshell Cases, Bags or Cords. These fees can be paid in the MacShack or in the front office with cash or check. Keep in mind that the company charges a fee to use this online system. 

To protect yourself financially, the district partners with a third party company to provide a group rate.  The plan does not have a deductible and covers the device (not cases, bags or clamshells) from accidental damage, including liquid damage, power cord, and broken screens.  If you do not have insurance and your device is not repairable, it could cost you $699 to replace a MacBook.  It costs students/parents $200 for a MacBook broken screen the first time, with an increase on consecutive damage for all devices; the district offsets the cost of most damage until the third incident. Paying for insurance now is a cost-effective way of protecting your pocketbook.
