A little bit about me...
I am excited to begin my 24th year of teaching!  When I'm not at work my favorite thing to do is spend time with my two girls.  I love to bake, read, exercise, spend time with family, and enjoy the outdoors.   I also love music and usually have it playing wherever I am.
Why I became a teacher...
I want to help teenagers.  I want them to ENJOY school, and I want to help them learn what they need to in order to thrive as adults.  I love seeing them develop their leadership skills and making a difference in our school and community through service learning opportunities.  Most importantly, I want them to know that they are VALUABLE and can do and become anything they want to!
My Classes...
Introduction to Culinary Arts
Culinary Arts
Advanced Culinary Arts
Family & Community Services (PALs Year 1)
Instructional Practices in Education & Training (PALs Year 2)
The Culinary Cafe is a student-run restaurant open to our SHS staff and SISD administration.
Students are learning valuable skills to prepare them for life after high school!
Students may join Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. We have a national award winning chapter, and students have the opportunity to develop leadership skills as they participate in various activities and competitions.  It is the only student-led youth organization with the family as its central focus.
Please click on link below for more information on our local chapter.
Students will gain hands-on experience working with children in our school district.  They also develop their leadership skills as they plan and implement service learning projects throughout the year.  (Applications are completed each spring preceding the fall semester of their junior & senior year)
